Sathapana Bank is the fifth largest commercial bank in Cambodia in terms of total assets. Through its evolution from a microfinance institution to a commercial bank, Sathapana has an extensive branch network of 170 branches throughout the country, through which the bank provides access to financing primarily to MSMEs. Around 50% of the bank's borrowers are women.
Despite of its economic growth in recent years, Cambodia is still one of the least developed countries (LDCs) in the world. MSMEs make a significant contribution to the Cambodian Economy, providing more than 70% of the employment and more than 50% of the annual GDP.
OeEB’s credit line shall contribute to improving access to finance for MSMEs, thereby also contributing to local economic development and job creation.
