In December 2013, OeEB invested USD 30 million in the Global Climate Partnership Fund (GCPF). In December 2018, the funds were increased by USD 20 million. The funds will be used for financing projects contributing to climate protection in developing countries.

The GCPF was founded in 2009 and is dedicated to mitigating climate change via projects which reduce greenhouse gas emissions in emerging and developing markets. The fund focuses on financing energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in cooperation with local private companies.

By providing capital and technical assistance to these projects, a positive impact on the local environment and economy is created.
