"Especially for people living in developing countries, a stable income is the key for better living conditions," emphasise Andrea Hagmann and Michael Wancata, members of OeEB's executive board. OeEB's current development report highlights that, by building up small and medium-sized enterprises, jobs are created which open up new perspectives.
Over 170,000 people were employed in the companies and financial institutions that received OeEB credit or equity financing.
Moreover, more than 32,000 micro borrowers were reached and could build up their own small businesses. 8,000 small and medium-sized businesses received access to financing through OeEB's SME-projects.
